HOUGHTON, NY – Just under seven minutes into overtime, Houghton's
Adelle Hunter banged home a rebounded shot, giving the Highlanders their third win of the season in dramatic fashion.
Deborah Cross put the Highlanders on the board first, scoring her first goal of the season in the 33
rd minute of play.
But the Warriors responded emphatically, posting three goals in just over three minutes of play.
Houghton refused to go down without a fight. Shortly after the Lycoming scoring flurry,
Campbell Bowers put away a penalty stroke to pull the Highlanders within one, but that is where the score would remain for the next 10 minutes.
With time quickly fading from the clock, the Highlanders made one final push with just over a minute to play.
Jace Hunzinger crossed a ball from the right side to
Adria Hartzler, whose ensuing shot kicked off the Lycoming goalie's pads.
Bekah Davie quickly corralled the carom and deposited the tying goal into the back of the net, setting the stage for Hunter's game-winning heroics in overtime.

NOTABLE STATS
>> Davie's goal is her fourth of the season, giving her 103 total career points, surpassing Lori Sheetz (101 points, 1989-92) for sole possession of second place on the Houghton career leader board.
>> Hunzinger, who was originally credited with an assist on Davie's game-tying goal, asked that she not received credit for the assist because the ball hit the goalie's pads before Davie scored. The senior forward is the both Houghton's and the Empire 8's all-time assist leader, and led the NCAA in assists-per-game last season. The assist would have been the 100
th point of her career.
