HOUGHTON, NY – The Hartwick Hawks scored a pair of fourth-quarter goals less than a minute-and-a-half apart to stun the Houghton Highlanders, 2-1.
Adria Hartzler put the Highlanders up by a goal on the two-time reigning Empire 8 champs in the 25
th minute, receiving a pass from
Deborah Cross and depositing it into the back of the cage for her third goal of the season.
For the next 35 minutes, it looked like the Highlanders were primed to pick up their first victory over the Hawks since 2017. But a quick counter after a shot by Cross saw Hartwick's Ashley Tricarico bury the equalizer from the right side.
Only 90 seconds later the Hawks drew a penalty stroke, and Tricarico put away the game-winner, her fifth goal of the season.
