HOUGHTON, NY— Kip Bertram tossed six scoreless innings, striking out 12 batters, as the Houghton Highlanders completed a three-game sweep of the Alfred Saxons on Saturday night, 13-0.
After scoring a single run in the first, Houghton took a commanding lead in the second, plating five runs on three hits, including a two-run blast to left off the bat of
Vincent Lucyszyn.
The Highlanders would tack on a single run in the fourth, and three apiece in the fifth and sixth.
Bertram would allow only two hits and one walk on the day.
Mark Lewandowski would pitch a scoreless seventh, striking out two more Saxon batters.
