Women's Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight, Takes Down Utica in Straight Sets

UTICA, NY – Lilly Bently surpassed double-digit kills for the fourth consecutive game, tying the career-best mark of 15 kills that she set only yesterday, as the Houghton Highlanders rolled to their fourth straight win, defeating the Utica Pioneers in straight sets.

The Highlanders racked up 18 kills in the opening set, building a 1-0 lead with a 25-18 win.

In the second set, Houghton overcame a 21-16 deficit, winning nine of the final 11 points to take a two-set lead.

Utica again built a sizable lead in the third set, only to watch the Highlanders erase it with a seven point run.  The Pioneers would make a late run, pulling within a point, 22-23, before back-to-back kills by Ainslie Reimer and Bentley sealed the win for the Highlanders.
