Glasswork, Fast Start Spur Golden Flyers Past Highlanders

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The city of Rochester continued to prove a bane to the Houghton Highlanders on Tuesday night, as they as they dropped their second consecutive game there—their only two losses this season—to the Nazareth Golden Flyers, 70-58.
 
Kiara Anglin and Molly Benetti combined to pull down 32 rebounds, as the Golden Flyers dominated the glass, outrebounding the Highlanders, 50-34.
 
Nazareth set the tone early, capitalizing on a 10-0 run midway through the first quarter, to establish a 21-10 advantage after the first 10 minutes. 
 
The Highlanders regained their composure in the second quarter, outscoring the Golden Flyers by two, but trailed at the half, 32-23.
 
The third quarter proved the difference in the game, as the Golden Flyers slowly but steadily tacked on, building an 18-point lead heading into the final quarter.
 
Houghton turned in their most productive quarter over the final 10 minutes, outscoring the Golden Flyers, 22-16, but the Nazareth lead proved insurmountable.

>> While the Highlanders won the turnover battle, 18-15, the Golden Flyers converted 43 percent of their shots, compared to Houghton's 34 percent.
 
>> Crysta LaCrosse led the Highlanders with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Kayla Camacho added 13 points, converted 5-of-11 shots.  LaCrosse has reached double-digit points in each of the last four games and nine times this season, while Camacho has accomplished the feat 14 times this season.
 
>> Tabitha DeVries picked up 12 points, five boards, two assists and two blocked shots.  She has scored at least 10 points in seven of the team's last eight contests, and 11 times total this season.
