HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Despite a performance that saw the Highlanders control the majority of possession and dominate in shots and scoring opportunities, Houghton men's soccer suffered a 2-0 setback to Sage in E8 action Saturday at home.
The Gators scored both of their goals off penalty kicks, one coming in each half.

Sam Carpenter was called for a foul when he challenged the attacker coming in alone on goal in the 12th minute. The ensuring penalty was converted just past Carpenter's outstretched arms.
>> Goal number two came with the Highlanders pressing for the equalizer late in the contest. The Sage forward was tripped up just as he entered the box to earn the penalty.
