Hunzinger Establishes New Career Assist Mark in Field Hockey Season-Opening Win

LANCASTER, PA – Jace Hunzinger and the Houghton Highlanders field hockey team kicked off the 2023 season with a bang, defeating the Lancaster Bible Chargers on Friday afternoon, 6-0.

Hunzinger, who last season earned All-Region honors after she tallied 32 points and tied for the NCAA Division 3 lead in assists-per-game (.90), scored one goal and dished out two assists, the first of which broke the Houghton career record (30).

Cate Westenberger scored twice, while five different Highlanders would find the back of the cage, and Annika Galen would stop the only two shots she faced for her first collegiate shutout.
