HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton Director of Athletics Matthew Webb has been elected to serve as the Second Vice President for the National Christian College Athletic Association.
Â
In this position, Webb will serve on the Administration Committee, which guides the NCCAA in most sport-related issues, including handbook and policy changes that are presented for vote by membership.
Â
"I am pleased to be able to serve the NCCAA in this way," said Webb. "Houghton has a long history of membership in the NCCAA, and this is simply one way we can give back and support an important and missionally aligned organization."
Â
This leadership role is a nine-year commitment. After a three-year term, the second vice president will then serve additional three-year terms as first vice president and concluding service as president.
Â
"Dr. Webb's election to leadership of the NCCAA is a testament to how respected and highly regarded he is in Christian college athletics," said Houghton President Dr. Wayne D. Lewis, Jr. "His new leadership role continues the university's long history of commitment and service to the association."
