PITTSFORD, NY— The St. John Fisher rapped out 14 hits, including four home runs, to defeat the Houghton Highlanders on Friday afternoon, 15-4.
Jason Kauffeldt put the Highlanders on the board first, depositing the second pitch of the game over the right field wall. The Cardinals, however, would answer with four runs in the bottom of the first.
Houghton would trim the lead to two runs in the top of the second on an RBI single from
Jeremey Wilcox, but again Fisher would extend their lead, scoring two more runs in the bottom half of the inning on a homerun by James Murphy.
The Cardinals would plate three more in the third and five in the fourth to take a 14-2 lead.
The Highlanders picked up two more runs in the fifth, but Fisher added one final insurance run in the sixth to cap the scoring.
