KEUKA, N.Y. -- Houghton softball dropped two on the road to Keuka College. They lost 4-2 before losing 9-0 in a five inning game two.
Kayla Loomis pitched all six innings in game one. Jennifer Burrows got the start in game two and Alisabeth Crandall came out in relief in the fourth inning.
Game 1
The Wolves scored first in the bottom of the third, scoring all four of their runs in the game. After two delays from lightning in the area, the Highlanders showed some fight in the top of the seventh. They scored their two runs from a Chyanne Bushyhead double, scoring Jennifer Page and Lydia Peterson.
Kayla Loomis pitched six innings, allowing eight hits, four runs, four walks, and had six strikeouts.
Game 2
The Wolves scored the first run of the game in the first inning with a single to center field. They capitalized on their lead, scoring three more runs in the bottom of the third. Keuka scored five more in the bottom of the fourth, giving Houghton one more chance to keep the game going.
The Highlanders could not get their bats moving and lost in five innings, 9-0.
Jennifer Burrows pitched three innings, allowing nine hits, two earned runs, and had one strikeout. Alisabeth Crandall came into the game to pitch for the Highlanders in the bottom of the fourth. She allowed four earned runs, two hits, and three walks.
Houghton softball will be back in action Friday, April 21 for a doubleheader at St. John Fisher at 3 and 5 p.m.
