HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton women's soccer gave the Homecoming fans a treat with a 1-0 win over Sage on Saturday at Burke Field.

The Highlanders got on the board with a Natalie Milne goal in the 12th minute.

DETAILS
>> The teams played evenly throughout the early minutes, but it was the Highlanders that were able to break through first. Freshman Taylor Curyto made a run down the left flank and sent a beautiful cross to Milne, whose quick shot from five yards out bounced off a Gators defender and past the keeper.
>> Houghton keeper Alliah Fluent played strong in net and turned away several Gator shots in the first half
>> The second half featured more strong play by Fluent, but the biggest save came from midfielder Marissa Miller, who blocked a Sage shot after a corner in the 78th minute.
