HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton men's soccer was able to secure a 2-2 tie with Hartwick on a late second-half goal on Burke Field on Saturday afternoon.

However, the result, along with Alfred's 2-0 win over Utica, means the Highlanders will miss out on an E8 playoff berth for the second-straight season.

>> Houghton kept up the pressure and found more chances. The work paid off in the 73rd minute. CJ Stout pushed the ball through the midfield to Alex Kalivoda, who dribbled into space, slotted a ball to Nathi Volmink, and the freshman fought off a defender and poked the ball under the keeper from eight yards out.
