PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher Cardinals remained undefeated in Empire 8 conference play, moving to 6-0 with a three-set victory over the visiting Houghton Highlanders on Thursday night.
 
The Cardinals posted attack percentages over .400 in each of the first two sets, pulling ahead at the midway point in the first set then holding the Highlanders off down the stretch.  
 
In set number two Fisher posted streaks of eight points and seven points, separated by only one Houghton point, to go up 2-0. 
 
In the final set, the Cardinals raced out to a 9-1 advantage, only to see the Highlander claw back into contention.  With Houghton trailing by only one point, 15-16, Fisher strung together three straight points, then moments later put up four straight, pulling ahead 24-17, and eventually locking up the match.
