HAMBURG, NY – For the second time this month, the Houghton Highlanders defeated the Hilbert Hawks, giving the Highlanders their second win in their past three games, 3-0.
Houghton limited their mistakes and attacked early and often, committing only 11 attack errors (.313 attack percentage) and four service errors, while racking up 32 kills and 10 aces.
The Highlanders rolled through the first two sets, limiting the Hawks to only 27 total points. Hilbert found their footing in the third set, taking the game down to the wire, before the Highlanders pulled out a 25-22 win.
