MORRISVILLE, NY – A pair of goals by
Deborah Cross, and another by
Jace Hunzinger, propelled the Houghton Highlanders to a 3-0 season-opening victory over the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs.
Cross scored the game-winning goal at the 10-minute mark, one-timing a feed from
Elzandie Du Plessis into the back of the cage.
While Houghton dominated the offensive flow, Hunzinger and Cross finally gave the Highlanders some breathing room late in the third quarter, scoring a pair of goals just five minutes apart.
