HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Houghton College men's basketball Head Coach Lance Westberg has announced his resignation after three seasons at the helm.

Westberg came to Houghton prior to the 2019-20 season after serving as an assistant for five years at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. In his three seasons with the Highlanders, Westberg produced a record of 10-48 overall and an 8-30 in the Empire 8 Conference.

"I want to thank Coach Westberg for his time at Houghton College as our men's basketball coach," said Director of Athletics Matthew Webb. "His energy and enthusiasm both on the court and in the department will be missed. We wish him all the best in his next endeavors."

The position is currently posted on the college website as the department begins a national search for the next head coach of the program.
