Softball Explodes for 52 Runs in Two-Game Sweep of Wells

AURORA, N.Y. -- Houghton softball improved to 6-5 on the season after its sweep of Wells College on Friday afternoon. The Highlanders belted 40 hits and outscored the Express 52-2 over the two games, setting several team and individual game records in the process. Houghton won game one, 17-0, and closed the day with a 35-2 win. Both games went just five innings.

This is just the second time Houghton has been above .500 since the program was reinstated in 2012 and it's the first time the program has been better than .500 after 11 games into the season.
