HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Three members of the Houghton women's soccer program have been honored by the Empire 8 Conference for their performances during the 2022 fall season.
Sarah Potocki was named to the All-E8 Second Team, while
Natalie Milne and
Madison Luxmore were Third Team selections in all-conference voting among E8 coaches announced today.
Potocki, who was also a second team honoree in 2021, led the Highlanders with 12 points (three goals, six assists) on the season. Her six assists were tied for first in the E8. She also tallied team highs in shots (37) and shots on goal (23).
Milne was seventh in the conference and was tied for first on the team in goals scored (5). She also was third in the conference and led the team with three game-winning goals.
Luxmore made her mark on the defensive end for the Highlanders. She scored one goal and one assist, but her composure in the back and her strong leg helped Houghton's defensive to offensive transition.
In addition,
Moriah Steffen was named Houghton's representative on the 2022 Women's Soccer Sportswoman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission.
