ALFRED, NY— After
Josh Jordan scored the game's opening basket to give the Houghton Highlanders the lead, the Alfred Saxons owned the next 13 minutes, peeling off a 29-2 run to propel them to their 10
th victory of the season, 89-53.
Over the remainder of the first half the Saxons would score only one more point than the Highlanders, 16-15, but the damage had already been done. Alfred led Houghton at the break, 43-17.
While the second half proved more competitive, the Saxons continued to expand their lead, outscoring the Highlanders, 46-36, over the game's final 20 minutes.
