HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton cross country student-athlete Amanda Burrichter has been named the Empire 8 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending September 5.

Burrichter finished in second place overall at the Highlander Short Course Invitational on Wednesday. Burrichter ran a time of 15:14.9 over the 4,000-meter course, which was the fastest time by any Empire 8 runner during the week and was the fastest time by a Houghton women's cross country runner over that distance since joining the NCAA Division III ranks in 2012.
