Houghton, NY– The Houghton College Women's soccer got a win on the road Tuesday night as they took on Buffalo State in a 3-0 victory.
The first half started off slow as both teams tried to figure the other out and gain an advantage in some way. That advantage would soon favor the Highlanders as they scored off the corner kick in the 25th minute of the match. This would be the only goal of the half and ultimately give Houghton a 1-0 lead heading into the locker room.
The second half began with the same method of both teams attempting to gain an advantage while also avoiding exposing themselves. Once again that momentum would swing in favor of the Highlanders as Sierra Dibble found the net in the 64th minute, giving the highlanders a 2-0 lead and all the confidence in the world. That confidence would prove to be very beneficial as it resulted in another goal, this time off the foot of Anna Kalivoda in the 81st minute. Kalivoda's goal would be the final icing on the cake as the Highlanders bring a 3-0 victory back to Houghton.
With the win, the Highlanders improve to 3-1 on the season. The Highlanders will travel to Utica on Saturday as they begin conference play.
