HOUGHTON, NY— With just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Lyndsey McCoy hit a three-pointer from the corner to put the Alfred Saxons up by two points, helping to complete a comeback victory over the Houghton Highlanders in the final game of the season for both teams, 64-60.
While the Highlanders never trailed by more than eight points, the Saxons maintained the lead for the game's first 32 minutes.
After entering the fourth quarter down by three, Houghton's Cori Beck scored her first two points of the game on a fast-break layup, and Hannah Cybart followed with a three-point play less than a minute later to give the Highlanders their first lead of the game.
Brooke Lewandowski would stretch the Houghton lead to five points moments later, sinking a pair of free throws.
With four minutes remaining Houghton still led by four points, but Alfred's Jamie Wilcox hit a layup, and Bri Hicks followed with a three-point play to give the Saxons a one-point lead.
Hannah Cybart followed with a pair of free throws to put Houghton back up by one before McCoy sank her three from the corner.
With less than a minute to go, and Alfred leading by four, Caitlyn Cybart drained a three to pull Houghton within one point. After a pair of missed free throws by the Saxons, the Highlanders grabbed the defensive rebound, but committed a turnover with 32 seconds to play.
The Saxons converted 3-of-4 from the line in the closing seconds, and the Highlanders could not pull closer.

Beck finished her career ranked second all-time in assists, dishing out 380 over her four years as a Highlander, only 27 behind top-ranked Wendy Ivey (1997-2001).
