Highlanders Fall to Alfred in Season Finale

HOUGHTON, NY— Sam Dagon scored 24 points in his final game, leading the hot-shooting Alfred Saxons past the host Houghton Highlanders on Saturday afternoon, 101-62.
 
The Saxons hit 10-of-16 three-point shots (62.5 percent) in the opening half, including six of the first seven shots they attempted from beyond the arc, building a sizable lead early and never relinquishing that advantage.
 
In the second half the Saxons cooled off, relatively speaking, converting only 40 percent of their long range shots, but still knocking down over 63 percent of their shots from the floor.
 
Isander Ramos-Net closed out his Houghton career with 15 points, three assists and four rebounds, while fellow senior Kyle Donk scored four points and added four rebounds.
