MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny College defeated Houghton men's tennis, 7-2, on Monday night.
The tandem of
Jake Fisler and
Dylan Scherer took an 8-5 win in first singles, while Scherer finished his perfect day with a 6-4, 6-2 win in second singles.
Micah Christensen battled his opponent through three sets, before losing 2-6, 7-5, 10-7. Other close singles matches included
Ethan Baker in third singles (3-6, 3-6) and
Justice Newell in sixth singles (4-6, 2-6).
"The guys played a really good match today. It's always great to play teams that pull the best from your players," said Head Coach
Tonya McGraner. "We had some guys who really played an excellent day of tennis."
