ALBANY, N.Y. -- Houghton women's tennis got three wins but it wasn't enough to get past the Sage Gators as the Highlanders lost 6-3 in E8 play on the road Saturday.

Houghton took first doubles as senior Catie Moore (Prattsburg, NY/Prattsburg) and rookie Elise Swnason (Beamus Point, NY/Maple Grove) beat the Gator tandem of seniors Abbey Clobridge (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) and Sadie Dunne (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), 8-7 (7-5).

Sage then took No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

Haley and Cline earned wins for the Highlanders at No. 2 and No. 4 singles.

Houghton (2-5, 1-2 E8) returns to action on Tuesday, September 24 at 4 p.m. when they host Brockport.
