ERIE, Pa. -- Houghton men's soccer tied Grove City, 0-0, in the season opener for both teams Friday in Erie, Pa.
The game was evenly played throughout. Houghton just missed on several scoring opportunities, including a ball cleared away from the post by the Grove City keeper late in the second half.

I thought the guys stood up well to a very good team in Grove City. They are a well coached team that have won a lot of games in recent seasons. Today is a good foundation to build on.
