HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders fought hard and came out with a 10-8 win over Alfred State. The visitors put in the first goal but Houghton was able to net two of their own to take the lead in quarter one. The Highlanders started off the scoring in the second quarter but Alfred State was able to connect and go on a 3 goal run. The teams battled back and forth ending the half tied 5-5.
Both team's goalies were strong in the third quarter limiting Houghton to one goal and Alfred State with two goals. The Highlanders went into the final quarter down by one goal but were able to take the lead after going on a four goal run to close out the game.

"Tonight was a hard fought battle from the opening whistle. Alfred State played well and had the lead going into the fourth quarter. We were really proud of the way our team responded and were able to grit out the win by ending the game on a 4-1 run.
Jeremy Harris had a huge second half and ended the game with 15 saves. Jon Mayer and
Cole Chapman helped lead the offense with three goals each and Nate Anderson put in the go ahead goal from a great assist from
Lyle Warrior with 4 minutes left. Overall, it was a great team win and we will look to rest and recover over the next few days before facing Stevens this coming Saturday." –Head Coach,
