Houghton controlled play throughout most of the first half, but had to withstand a couple of dangerous transition opportunities by the Hawks to keep the score 0-0 at the half.
The Hawks had better possession in the second half, but it was the Highlanders who broke the stalemate with a goal by
Daniel Bussey in the 52nd minute.
Elijah Steffen upped the margin to 2-0 with a 22 yard free kick goal just four minutes later. Hartwick pulled back to within one on a counter-attack breakaway goal in the 60th minute.

COACH'S CORNER
Overall, I thought the team played well today. We scored two good goals and controlled large periods of the game. Hartwick caused us a few problems on the counter, but overall I thought we defended well. We are undefeated in our last four games and we haven't lost a conference game so we are in a good place right now. -- Head Coach
Bobby McColl
