Golden Flyers Soar Past Highlanders

HOUGHTON, NY – The Nazareth Golden Flyers opened up a sizable lead early and never let up, defeating the Houghton Highlanders, 82-43, on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Golden Flyers hit nine first-half threes, while the Highlanders struggled to find an offensive rhythm.  Nazareth led by as many as 28 late in the first half, before heading to the locker room up, 41-19.
 
In the second half, the Highlanders ticked up slightly on the offensive end, improving their shooting from the floor by 11 percent, but the Golden Flyers matched their first half scoring output, and Houghton never came closer than the midway deficit.
