HOBOKEN, NJ – The Stevens Ducks utilized a deep bench to take down the Houghton Highlanders on Friday night, 73-48.
Thirteen Ducks saw double-digit minutes, allowing the home team to maintain high-pressure throughout the game.
Stevens came out of the gates quickly, reeling off a 20-2 run over a six minute stretch in the first half, in route to 20-point halftime lead.
The Ducks continued to play a hot hand in the second half, scoring the first 12 points of the second 20 minutes.
Houghton, however, would continue to battle, outscoring the home team over the final 15 minutes, 23-16.
Akil Grampus, playing in front a strong contingent of family and friends, would post career highs in both rebounds (16) and points (12) for the Highlanders, in route to his first double-double.
