HOUGHTON, NY – An offensive explosion propelled the Houghton Highlanders past the Wells Express on Tuesday afternoon, 8-1.
In the first half,
Nicole Jennings,
Caitlin Jennings and
Beth Wagner would each put away two goals, putting Houghton up 6-0 at the midway mark.
Grace McBride picked up where her teammates left off just over five minutes into the second half, placing a diving one-handed shot past the keeper. Kelsey Eldrige then added the final goal--her first of the season-- in the 48
th minute.
Wells continued to play hard throughout, picking up their lone goal in the final minute of the game.
