HOUGHTON, NY – Three first-half goals propelled the #18-ranked SUNY Cortland Red Dragons past the Houghton Highlanders, 4-1, on Tuesday evening on Burke Field.
 
The Red Dragons put three goals in the back of the cage in just over 10 minutes to open up a decisive lead midway through the first half.
 
Houghton never quit, finding their way onto the scoreboard in the 42^nd minute when Beth Wagner found Caitlin Jennings in front of the cage for her sixth goal of the season.
 
Cortland quickly restored their three-goal lead, scoring again less than three minutes later.
 
Houghton had several other opportunities in the remaining minutes, but could not draw closer.
