ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Houghton men's tennis wrapped up their regular season Saturday with a 9-0 win over Nazareth.
The Highlanders will head into next weekend's Empire 8 Tournament riding a six-match winning streak, which includes five-straight 9-0 wins. Of the team's 10 wins on the campaign eight have been shutouts.
Against the Golden Flyers, Houghton swept doubles with 8-2, 8-1, 8-1 scores, and then lost just six of 42 games in the six singles matches.
Houghton (10-4 overall, 7-1 Empire 8) will host the
Empire 8 Tournament on May 4-5 and will be the No. 2 seed. Stevens will be the top seed after going undefeated in conference play. St. John Fisher and Hartwick are the third and fourth seeds, respectively.
