ALFRED, N.Y. -- Houghton men's lacrosse headed to Alfred State Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference tilt. The Highlanders took an early 2-0 lead, but Alfred State answered with a 4-0 run to take the lead, 4-2. Houghton cut the lead to 1 goal twice after that but were unable to tie the game or take the lead back. The score at halftime was 10-7 in favor of Alfred State. Houghton would out-score Alfred State 4-3 in the fourth quarter but Alfred State escaped with a 16-13 win.
