COACH'S CORNER:
"Putting up that six-spot in the first helped us a ton. Alfred State is a team that likes to produce runs any way they can and jumping on them early eliminated a lot of options for them.
"Victor pitched a fantastic game. The game plan was for him to throw about 75-80 pitches to prepare for this weekend. He threw 74.
"Admittedly, though, there were some things that we need to clean up. We made a couple of baserunning mistakes and had some at bats in the middle that should have been better. While I'm pleased with the result, I believe we're capable of more.
"With that said, for not practicing or playing in four days, I think we looked pretty good. Ithaca will be a good test for us on Wednesday. I'm certainly looking forward to it." –Coach
Brian Reitnour
