HOUGHTON, NY— Tough break for the Highlanders in doubleheader defeat against Stevens, 2-1 and 1-0, in Friday evening action.

Game 1: Trailing for the majority of the game, the Highlanders'
Caitlyn Cybart singled to center-field, pushing
Lauren Couturier across the plate and tying the game, 1-1. Seven innings was not enough to determine the game, so play continued into extra innings.
Houghton battled for two more innings but was unable to close the game. The Ducks took game one in the top of the ninth on an error which drove in the winning run.
Game 2: With only two hits on the game, Houghton found it difficult to rally against the Ducks in game two. Stevens' lonesome run came in the top of fifth on a double, which proved to be the deciding run that settled the series.
KEY STATS:
>> The two teams powered out 24 hits in both games combined, nine for Houghton and 15 for Stevens.

Kaylee Jentsch (4-4) and
Tanya Hatton (3-6) combined surrendered three runs on 15 hits with two errors, five walks and struck out three.
