FT. PIERCE, FL- Brandon Joslin tossed six scoreless innings, allowing only one infield hit, as the Houghton Highlanders defeated the Eastern Eagles, 9-1.
The Highlanders opened up a commanding five-run lead in the top of the third, capped by a bases-loaded two-run base hit from
John Zamites.
After adding another run in the top of the fourth, Eastern put the first two runners on in the bottom of the inning. With Joslin potentially on the ropes, the Highlanders turned a 6-4-3 double-play, and induced another groundball out to escape the inning.
Houghton would add a run in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
Joslin would finish his day with eight strikeouts, earning his first collegiate victory.

Coach's Corner:
"Today was a good win for us. It was great to see our team finally put together a complete game. Brandon pitched incredibly well; our defense was solid; we were aggressive on the bases and we had timely hitting. It was a joy to watch, and a lot of fun to coach.
"Hopefully, we can take some momentum into our getaway day tomorrow and continue to play the same brand of baseball." -Coach
Brian Reitnour
