UTICA, NY – The Lady Highlanders lost at SUNY Poly 7-12. It was a back and forth game with SUNY Poly taking a 4-2 lead into half time. The Wildcats outscored the Highlanders 5-1 in the first 20 minutes of the 2nd half giving them a 9-3 lead. Houghton then scored a quick pair of goals by
Brooke Turner and
Marissa Hews to cut the lead to 9-5. SUNY Poly would answer back with two goals of their own to extend the lead. Houghton found the net two more times, and SUNY Poly once more to give SUNY Poly the win 12-7.
Marissa Hews had 3 goals in the game, while
Alyssa Strom added 2 goals, 2 assists and a new school record for ground balls by a field player with 11.
Cori Beck and
Brooke Turner added the other two Highlander goals.
