CLERMONT, F.L.- The Highlanders were let down on day two of their Florida trip. Game one resulted in a 3-1, no-hitter defeat against the MSOE Raiders. In game two, the Concordia Cobbers showed up in a 5-0 rout.
In game one, a slow start served the Highlanders their first loss on Tuesday morning.
The Highlanders gave up two runs aided by two errors and a couple of walks in the top of the first. With the bases loaded, the Raiders got a double that drove in two runs. They later added one more run on a single in the top of the fourth.
Houghton saw success in the bottom of the sixth as
Taylor Dillenbeck reached base on an error and scored on a ground out to second base.
In game two, the Highlanders came up short against the Cobber's strong play in the third inning.
Four RBIs in the bottom of the third gave the Cobbers five runs that the Highlanders could not catch up to.
The Highlanders were able to produce a single by
Kaylee Jentsch in the top of the second and three hits throughout the game.
