Huddell and Unverdorben Lead Highlanders Past D'Youville

HOUGHTON, NY – Amy Huddell and Haley Unverdorben posted careers highs as the the Houghton Highlanders defeated the D'Youville Spartans in straight sets on Thursday night at the Nielsen Center.
 
With the score tied, 15-15, in the first set, Unverdorben and Huddell picked up back-to-back kills to gain some separation.  While the two teams took turns over the next five points, Houghton finally broke free with a three point run, and six of the next eight points.
 
After winning the second set, the two teams remained knotted late in the third, 17-17, when the Highlanders reeled off six straight points, thanks to two kills by Huddell and three service aces by Amber Edwards.  D'Youville picked up one more point before Huddell and Emma Santerre finished off the match with back-to-back kills.
