HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton field hockey put on the pressure late, but couldn't overcome a one-goal deficit in the 2-1 season-ending loss to visiting Morrisville State.
Houghton had jumped out to 1-0 lead in the game's first 11 minutes off a goal from
Caitlin Jennings. However the Mustangs responded less than two minutes later to even the score and found the eventual game-winner after another four minutes elapsed.
Houghton keeper
Sarah Olandt did her part in the second half with a great stop of a Mustang penalty stroke that kept the deficit at one. The Highlanders had their chances deep in the Morrisville end on several occasions, but couldn't find the equalizer.
