HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Houghton Highlanders picked up their second win in as many days thanks to a pair of goals by
Tanya Hatton and some timely defense, defeating the visiting Keystone Giants, 2-0, on Burke Field.
After playing the majority of the first half in the offensive end, and jumping out to a 2-0 lead, it looked like the Highlanders would run away with the game. The Giants, however, scored a quick second half goal and mounted several dangerous attacks, placing Houghton on their heels into the final 10 minutes.
Several saves by goalie
Elizabeth Piszker and some key stops by the Highlander defense bolstered the team and clinched the victory.
