HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton men's lacrosse ended their 2017 campaign with a 13-7 loss to Alfred State at home Saturday.
Paul Chapman scored the first of his six goals just two minutes into the game, but the Pioneers scored the game's next three goals to take control. The teams traded goals over the first five minutes of the second quarter, before Alfred State added one at the end of the first half and another to start the third quarter to push their advantage to 7-3.

Ryan Palmer got back-to-back goals to close the scoring.
Chapman finished his career as the program's all-time goal score with 150. He scored a career-high 48 this season.
