Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ITHACA, N.Y. -- Empire 8 power Ithaca College took two games from Houghton softball in a doubleheader played Friday at Ithaca.

The Bombers won 8-0 and 9-1.

Ithaca jumped out a 5-0 lead after two innings in game one. The hosts added two more runs in the fourth and another in the fifth for the final margin. The Highlanders managed just two hits. Kaylee Jentsch gave up five runs on five hits while walking four in two innings. Tanya Hatton pitched the remaining 2 1/3 and gave up three runs on three hits.

In game two, Taylor Sile pitched the full five innings, allowing nine runs on 11 hits. Bailey Shattell had the only Highlander hit, run and RBI as she belted her third homer of the year in the fourth innning.

Houghton (5-19; 0-8 E8) played two more conference games Saturday as they travel to take on Utica College.
