HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Jordan Scott (Burlington, ON, Canada, Notre Dame Secondary) came off the bench to lead his team in scoring, as the Houghton Highlanders took down the Utica College Pioneers for the second time this season, 92-82.
Utica led throughout most of the first nine minutes until Scott sank a pair of free throws and hit a jumper and a layup, all within two minutes, to give the Highlanders a lead they would never relinquish.
The Pioneers made several runs, but the Highlanders held them off each time.
In the second half the Pioneers pulled to within four points when senior
Brandon Camacho (Dundee, NY, Dundee High School) picked his man's pocket, drove the length of the court and pulled some magic out of bag of tricks with an up-and-under lay-in that brought the crowd to its feet.
Scott then nailed back-to-back three-pointers to give the Highlanders enough momentum to close the victory.
