HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Three Golden Flyers scored 20 points or more as Nazareth College downed the Houghton Highlanders on Wednesday night, 73-100.
The Golden Flyers came out on fire in the opening frame, jumping out to an 11-2 lead in the game's first four minutes and shooting a blistering 68 percent in the first half.

John Nelson (Houghton, NY, Christian Academy in Japan) layup cut the Nazareth lead to only two points in the eighth minute, and Houghton kept the game close until near the midway point, before the Golden Flyers went on a 12-3 run.
Nazareth then stretched their lead to 13 to finish the half, 49-36.
In the second half the Golden Flyers showed no sign of fatigue, shooting 58 percent from the floor and opening up their lead to as many as 32 points before ending the night with the 27 point victory.

The Golden Flyers: >Tyler Stenglein led all scorers with 25 points and added five assists and three steals.
>Maurice Mills and Mitch Ford both finished with double-doubles, scoring 21 and 20 points apiece, respectively. Mills pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked three shots while Ford collected 12 boards.
Stat Analysis: >While the Golden Flyers drained nearly 63 percent of their shots for the game, the Highlanders shot just under 36 percent from the floor.
