Coaches Corner:"Down the stretch Maisie Pipher really stepped it up for us. Her efforts on defensive and on the boards really improved our overall intensity.
"We made a couple of changes defensively in second half that impacted our intensity and effort. Our work on the boards (Houghton outrebounded the Spartans 15-6 on the offensive end) was just effort.
"Our depth also played a major role in this game. The biggest difference between last year's team and this year's team is depth. We had nine different players score points tonight." –
