CAZENOVIA, N.Y. -- Houghton women's lacrosse scored the final two goals of the contest to grab a 13-12 win over Cazenovia College on the road Tuesday.

Early on it looked as though the Highlanders would cruise through this one as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first 14 minutes of action. However, the Wildcats roared back with four of the next five goals to pull to 6-4 at the end of the half.

Houghton outscored Cazenovia 5-3 over the first nine minutes of the second half, but once again the hosts would not go away. The Wildcats scored five-straight goals to edge ahead 12-11 with 10:10 remaining. The teams would play scoreless over the next 4:30 before freshman Meghan Oswald would even the score with her third goal of the game. The gamewinner came off the stick of Elizabeth Westwood with 2:39 left, giving the Highlanders their first win of the season.

Oswald and Jennifer Zacchigna each finished with three goals, while Chandler Jones added two goals and two assists. Kourtnie Franklin made12 stops in net for the win.

Houghton (1-3) is back in action Saturday when they host Elmira College.
