Women's Soccer Set for Final NCCAA Pool Play Game

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Houghton College women's soccer (14-6-2) is one game away from playing for the NCCAA National Championship.

Tonight's final pool play game against #3 Mid-America Christian (12-8-1) is set for 7:30 p.m. Live video is available.

Each team brings a 2-0 pool play record into tonight's match. Houghton defeated Columbia International, 4-0, and Warner, 5-0, with the MACU Evangels scoring a 2-1 OT win over Warner and a 6-0 win over Columbia International.

If the #2 Highlanders get a win against MACU, they would win Pool B with a 3-0 record. If they tie, Houghton would advance to Saturday's title game based on goal differential. If MACU wins, they would advance.

Pool A is still wide open, but leaning toward #1 Mississippi College (2-0) advancing. They have outscored their first two opponents, 7-0, and take on #4 Trinity Christian (1-1), who has a 4-3 goal differential. The other Pool A matchup is #5 Central Christian (1-1) against #8 Trinity Lutheran.
