WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The 2015 season for Houghton field hockey came to an end on the road, as the Highlanders lost 6-0 to Washington & Jefferson on Saturday.
After a scoreless first 12 minutes of play, the Presidents exploded for five goals over a 15-minute span and took that 5-0 lead and a 23-0 shots advantage into the locker room.
W&J added one more goal in the second half, in which they outshot the Highlanders 6-0.
Elizabeth Piszker (Glens Mills, PA, Cardinal O'Hara) made 17 saves on the afternoon for the Highlanders, who wrapped the season with an 8-9 overall record and a 3-5 mark in E8 play. The Presidents improved to 11-7 overall and 5-3 in the E8.
